Using Ontologies as Semantic Representations of Hierarchical Task Network Planning Domains

چکیده
Integrating knowledge representation approaches, such as ontologies, with the field of automated planning is still an open research challenge. To explore this issue, we present a semantic model to address the knowledge representation of planning domains. More specifically, we show an ontological approach to represent HTN (Hierarchical Task Network) in OWL (Web Ontology Language) ontologies. We explain our planning ontology, demonstrate one instantiation to exemplify its use and propose algorithms to convert specifications from OWL to HTN, and vice-versa. We also discuss some future directions towards the integration of planning formalisms and semantic representations.

Learning task hierarchies using statistical semantics and goal reasoning
This paper describes WORD2HTN, an algorithm for learning hierarchical tasks and goals from plan traces in planning domains. WORD2HTN combines semantic text analysis techniques and subgoal learning in order to generate Hierarchical Task Networks (HTNs). Unlike existing HTN learning algorithms, WORD2HTN learns distributed vector representations that represent the similarities and semantics of the...
متن کاملControlled Search over Compact State Representations, in Nondeterministic Planning Domains and Beyond
Two of the most efficient planners for planning in nondeterministic domains are MBP and ND-SHOP2. MBP achieves its efficiency by using Binary Decision Diagrams (BDDs) to represent sets of states that share some common properties, so it can plan for all of these states simultaneously. ND-SHOP2 achieves its efficiency by using HTN task decomposition to focus the search. In some environments, ND-S...
متن کاملInformation Gathering During Planning for Web Service Composition
Hierarchical Task-Network (HTN) based planning techniques have been applied to the problem of composing Web Services, especially when described using the OWL-S service ontologies. Many of the existing Web Services are either exclusively information providing or crucially depend on information-providing services. Thus, many interesting service compositions involve collecting information either d...
متن کاملAn Overview of the Parallax BattleMind v1.5 for Computer Network Defence
BattleMind (BM) version 1.5 is the first of a series of Artificial Intelligence systems for semi-automatically understanding, planning and conducting Computer Network Defence. It makes use of a wide range of existing techniques including classification and feature extraction, semantic web technologies, data fusion, ontologies, first order predicate logic based forward and backward chained reaso...
متن کاملCombining HTN-DL Planning and CBR to compound Semantic Web Services
Semantic Web Services (SWS) are distributed and reusable software components that are described using standard formal languages like SWDL or OWL-S. SWS can be automatically discovered, invoked and combined. Complex applications can be built combining different Web Services and therefore, it is important to provide assisting tools to help in the composition process [6]. Planning techniques can b...
